Bye Bye Frappuccino

I write to you as I’m sitting here watching the rain fall in the middle of June in the UK.

Now the UK in general is not famous for having good weather, personally I think at border control an umbrella should be given to anyone entering the country. I mean more often than usual you will need to use one.

So with that being said when the Sun does come out to play it absolutely glorious.

Now I am a complete summer person I love the heat and only really call it hot when temperatures soar to 30+. Basically, I can handle the heat which is always a shock to my husband as I grew up in the UK.

Another aspect of Summer I love is the fact I can indulge in ice drinks (yes I am one of those people that reserves the right to only have cold drinks when its hot outside).

Coffee shops like Starbucks will change over their menus to include summer drinks like ice tea’s and Frappuccino’s. As tasty and satisfying these drinks are, they also include a huge amount of calories and example is my old favourite Caramel Coffee Frappuccino (whole milk) with no whip cream is a whopping 200 calories which is an insane amount to just drink.

So with this discovery in hand I decided to make a change and create my own version of my fav iced coffee drink minus the calorie count.

Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce to you my version of the perfect iced coffee beverage.

This is a Tall (size is subject to change depending on your caffeine needs) double espresso shot over ice (lots of ice) with one pump sugar free caramel syrup and a splash of almond milk.

Now I know this sounds like a complete mouthful when repeating to any barista but then any barista at any established coffee house should be able to process this order and if they don’t,well maybe it’s time for you to change coffee house.

This is a more healthier and cheaper cold coffee than your typical Starbucks Frappuccino- you should only really be paying no more than £2.50 for this drink.

  1. Sounds like a great way to still get your iced caffeine without the massive amount of calories 🙂 I used to make my own iced coffee and then got lazy and started buying it. The stuff I make at home really is better for me so I need to get my rear back in gear and make it again. Enjoy!

    1. Lol thanks for reading my post and yes it’s crazy how unhealthy these drinks are if you have them on a regular basis.

      I just made my husband buy a coffee flask thin starting Monday we are talking in our own coffee- cheap and healthy.
