April 2019 Empties

So was it just me or did April just flew by…. It was a crazy busy month for me with settling back into a routine after almost 2 months of traveling, alongside job interviews and running the London Marathon ( promise there is a blog post coming up about this soon).

I have seen so many bloggers doing empties of products they have loved/ hated so I though why not share a little form my side.

So here are my April 2019 empties:

La Roche Posey Effaclar Cleansing Gel

Quite literally this whole range has saved my skin at the end of summer last year my skin was not good- acne had come back in full force and it was not pretty. So after doing a lot of research yes I am one of those people who needs to read at least 4 to 5 reviews before I invest in a change of product. I went to my local Boots and purchased the trial box of this range as it is specifically made for acne prone skin- first up was the cleansing gel. The gel came in a squeezy tube and a clear liquid with no scent which I loved ( I am not a big fan or should I say my skin is not a fan of scented cleaners). The gel lathers up slightly and is very good at taking off makeup and leaving your skin clean but not dry. A big note here the product is designed for oily skin which I don’t have but this did not affect my skin in a negative way so don’t be put off by this. I am on my second re-purchase of this.

La Roche Posey Effaclar Toner

Going to admit to something here up, until end of last year I had never used a toner (SHOCKING) I know but now that I have I am happy to report back I will never not be using one anytime in the future. Now this toner is a Game Changer, oh how I have always wanted to say that about a  product but never got a chance to. I use this every morning and night as part of my skincare routine, it unclogs my pores and treats and soothes any pimples. The only thing I would say that use this product carefully as its quite astringent and can be drying on the skin however not irritating. Other than that I am in love with this toner.

La Roche Posey Effaclar Duo with SPF 30

A must have for anyone that is suffering from breakouts/acne prone skin. This was the first product that I came across from the range that had every skincare bloggers raving about. I was a little skeptic when using this product as I didn’t want to buy into the hype but I was wrong. Essentially, this is a moisturiser but it’s so much more than that- a spot treatment, a calming balm for the skin and now with a SPF to protect the skin. This moisturiser is a slightly think milky consistency and is absorbed into the skin leaving no residue. Going to be honest here it took a while before I seen any results I would say around the 6 week mark I seen a big difference in my skin. Another big flag is that I have started using this product from the range a little less as I found it drying but I did re-purchase this and am using is underneath my Neutrogena hydro Gel Moistures to keep my skin hydrated.

Bioderma Atoderm Shower Gel

Purchased this in Dubai under the recommendation of my sister in law. This shower gel is perfect for sensitive skin types and is super gentle leaving your skin clean but not squeaky clean. It came with a big pump and I found 2 pumps of the product went a long way. The gel itself does not have any particular smell and foams up well. I have also used this as a bubble bath. Both my husband have used this and found the 1 liter bottle lasted us for 3 months. Definitely will be repurchasing this.

Avene SPF 50

Sunscreen is so important and for the life of me I don’t understand why this is not emphasised everywhere.  Finding an SPF that does not take ages to sink into your skin, leaves no white residue behind and has no flashback on photos ( you know what I am talking about and if you don’t well take a quick google search to find many unflattering photos), anyway over many years of tried and tested Sunscreen products the Avene SPF 50 is the best (in my opinion). I use this every day and it does not affect my foundation or skincare regime in a negative way at all. It also melts into your skin like a dream.

Soap & Glory Primer

I have only been using a primer under my makeup over the last year or so and to be honest I don’t know how I managed without it. This Soap & Glory Primer is not one of my favorite products  (I purchased this as a last minute train station impulse buy) and to be honest I don’t think I will be repurchasing any time soon. For me a Primer needs to basically mattify and refine and pores on your skin before foundation goes on and I found this product lacked that. However, I did find that this primer was a good moisturiser for the skin.

Charlotte Tilbury

I believe everyone and anyone who is into makeup needs to at least have one product from the Charlotte Tilbury range in their makeup bag. I am a big fan of their bronzer/highlighter palette and their lipsticks. One of my first ever purchased was the Matt Lipsticks in the shade Secret Selma this is a very close dupe of Tom Ford Pussycat which is my go to lipstick for every day. The shade is a pinky nude and even though the lipsticks are matt they are not drying and requiring minimum touch ups.

No7 Concealer

Until the day I find an alternative I will continue to purchase and repurchase this concealer by No7 in Deeply Honey. The concealer itself is matt and does not crease on the skin, it lasts all day and is very pigmented. It’s the perfect size for any handbag and is very reasonably priced.

Are there any products that you constantly repurchase or do you look for new products to try out?
